Superyacht Northwest (SYNW) was honored in partnering with The U.S. Superyacht Association (USSA) for our Pacific Northwest Regional Summit in Seattle, Washington.
The much-anticipated SYNW Annual Summit returned with a splash, bringing together yachting enthusiasts, industry professionals, and experts from around the globe. Held from August 1-3rd in the vibrant city of Seattle, this year's event showcased a rich tapestry of discussions, networking opportunities, and on-site experiences.
The summit featured an array of esteemed panelists sharing their expertise on various topics. Discussions ranged from exploring new opportunities for private and charter yachts in the PNW to an in-depth review of the evolving regulatory framework surrounding chartering rules. Notably, the event delved into the exciting prospects for yachts venturing into the wilderness of Alaska and insights into refit and maintenance options available in Seattle. Our panel on educating the future employees of the maritime industry, featuring representatives from the Seattle Maritime Academy, Coreplus Maritime, The Maritime High School, and NW School of Wooden Boatbuilding, was a way to showcase the different ways to find, engage, and diversify the workforce.
Engagement was a key theme throughout the summit, with participants actively sharing their experiences and insights. The event was strategically structured to allow attendees to explore various yachting venues in the Seattle area. From the skyline views of Seattle at Emerald Landing to the vast marina and relaxing facilities of Elliot Bay Marina, participants immersed themselves in the region's diverse offerings. Members of the International Seakeepers Association played a pivotal role in emphasizing the industry's commitment to environmental stewardship. Their presence highlighted the positive impact the yachting community can have on safeguarding our environment.
Evenings were filled with networking events that provided members with the opportunity to sample the best of Seattle's dining scene. These gatherings fostered connections and conversations, strengthening the sense of community among yachting professionals. Two scheduled shipyard visits added an extra layer of excitement to the summit. Attendees toured Nordland Boat Company and Westport Yachts, gaining first hand insights into ongoing builds, meeting the dedicated teams, and witnessing the craftsmanship involved in creating remarkable yachts.
